‘Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy: Mission Breakout!’ Story Arc Coming to Disney XD and DisneyNOW

“Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy: Mission Breakout!” will feature distinct animation styles in a multipart story arc kicking off SUNDAY, MAY 5 (9:30–10:30 p.m. EDT/PDT), with two back-to-back episodes on Disney XD and DisneyNOW. In the new storyline, the Guardians, desperate to escape the Collector’s collapsing ship, jump into the Black Vortex Mirror and find themselves separated and trapped in strange new worlds. Crossing time and dimensions, each world was developed using different animation techniques to visually support the storytelling, including CG-stop motion, children’s book illustration, 8-bit, motion comic – all firsts for a Marvel animated series – as well as Golden Age and traditional CG.

The premiere schedule is as follows:

Sunday, May 5 (9:30 p.m. EDT/PDT)

“Black Vortex, Part One” – When the Guardians become separated in the Black Vortex, Gamora wakes up in a children’s fairy tale, while Drax is trapped in a comic book.

“Black Vortex, Part Two” – While caught in a CG sinister packing factory, Rocket must search for his best friend Groot and escape.

Sunday, May 12 (9:30 p.m. EDT/PDT)

“Black Vortex, Part Three” – Quill finds himself in a claymation world where the Milano is flying into the sun, threatening to melt him. Meanwhile, Groot and Drax must fight Ronan in a Golden Age world.

“Black Vortex, Part Four” – Gamora and Quill battle their way through an 8-bit Super Marvel World.

“Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy: Mission Breakout!” stars Will Friedle (Disney’s “Kim Possible”) as Peter Quill/Star-Lord, Trevor Devall (“Johnny Test”) as Rocket Raccoon, Vanessa Marshall (“Star Wars Rebels”) as Gamora, David Sobolov (“Transformers: Prime”) as Drax the Destroyer and Kevin Michael Richardson (“The Cleveland Show”) as Groot.

Produced by Marvel Animation, the series’ award-winning creative team includes executive producers Alan Fine (“Marvel’s The Avengers”), Joe Quesada (“Marvel’s Avengers Assemble”), Dan Buckley (“Marvel’s Avengers Assemble”), Cort Lane (“Marvel’s Ultimate Spider-Man”) and Eric Radomski (“Marvel’s Avengers Assemble”).

New Specimens Join the Collection at Guardians of the Galaxy – Mission: BREAKOUT! at Disney California Adventure Park

Taneleer Tivan is expanding his collection of rare items from across the galaxy inside the Guardians of the Galaxy – Mission: BREAKOUT! attraction at Disney California Adventure park.  Beginning this week,  guests can see the new Vyloos, native to the planet Berhert, which you may remember from the film, “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2.”

These birds are known to be very responsive, friendly and outgoing – responding to noises and movement – but they can also suddenly become extremely shy and introverted.   As cute as they may be,  these little birds have been known to defend themselves when threatened, so the Tivan Group is keeping them fully enclosed in their glass display case at all times.  As long as the fortress power source remains operational, they will be safely contained.

The Collector invites you to come see these new acquisitions for yourself, on display beginning this week at Guardians of the Galaxy – Mission: BREAKOUT! at Disney California Adventure park!

Actress Tina Fey Visits Disneyland Resort

Tina Fey and her family recently visited Disneyland Resort.  During her visit, the actress checked out Guardians of the Galaxy – Mission: Breakout! at Disney California Adventure park and met up with Groot.
