Salt & Straw, the family-run ice cream company known for its taste-provoking, imaginative ice cream creations, will open its newest location on Friday, October 12 at Downtown Disney District at the Disneyland Resort.
At Salt & Straw, every ice cream flavor is handmade in small batches using the best local, organic and sustainable ingredients. Special offerings will be available seasonally, showcasing co-founder and head ice cream maker Tyler’s passion for cultivating genuine partnerships with local farmers and artisans. Favorite flavors include Sea Salt with Caramel Ribbons, Double Fold Vanilla and Chocolate Gooey Brownie.
The ribbon cutting ceremony is scheduled for 9:30am, with the shop opening at 10:00am.
Salt & Straw is located in the former Haagen-Dazs location.
Every afternoon beginning at 3 p.m., food trucks will arrive at the Downtown Disney District at the Disneyland Resort. The trucks visit on a rotating basis this fall including The Habit Burger Grill, Crepes Bonaparte, Brew Wings and Mad Dumplings, to name a few.
Also, at the west end of the district, enjoy live music on the main stage beginning at 6 p.m. nightly, which is a great spot for dancing or meeting up with friends.
Throughout October, it’s Halloween Time at the Disneyland Resort and Downtown Disney is in the spooky spirit with entertainment, seasonal food and beverage offers and pumpkins-a-plenty stacked in stunning displays throughout the district. Take a look!
Earl of Sandwich has reopened at Downtown Disney District at the Disneyland Resort. The popular fast-casual restaurant—inspired by John Montagu, the Earl who invented the sandwich in 1762—is now serving breakfast, lunch and dinner in its original location for a limited time.
You can enjoy all your favorites from their famous hot sandwiches on artisan breads to hand-crafted wraps and a variety of freshly-tossed salads.
Also coming this fall, is Salt & Straw scoop shop to the area. In the coming weeks, Disney will also celebrate the reimagined World of Disney store and the newly-renovated Naples Ristorante e Pizzeria. And in the coming months, Ballast Point and Black Tap Craft Burgers & Shakes will also make their debut.
Halloween Time is in full swing at Disneyland Resort and autumn has also arrived at the Downtown Disney District. Visiting guests will quickly notice the festive seasonal décor surrounding the area with special entertainment and fall-themed treats and landscaping.
Landscaping includes a bounty of brilliant yellow, red, orange and green taking on different heights, shapes and textures. There are more than 2,150 pumpkins, squash and giant gourds surrounded by marigolds, mums and ferns across 17 assortments.

Guests can also enjoy the SCAREolers, an a capella group crooning Halloween favorites, including “I Put a Spell on You” and “Grim Grinning Ghosts.”
Naples Ristorante e Pizzeria in the Downtown Disney District at the Disneyland Resort has revealed their beautiful new upstairs dining space and walkout patio.
Twinkling chandeliers give the celestial atmosphere a warm and inviting glow. Inside, guests are welcome to comfortably lounge in plush booth seating while looking on as their meals are being expertly prepared in the open concept kitchen.
Guests can order Napolini’s famous fresh-baked pizzas from the recently opened ground-level patio at Naples. Customers can grab an individual 10-inch Neapolitan pie to enjoy by themselves on the go or share a large 20-inch amongst friends and family for a delicious meal on the go. The third and final phase of renovations are slated to be complete later this year. These dynamic developments are part of the ongoing Downtown Disney District promenade-wide transformation. Multiple new venues — such as Salt & Straw scoop shop, Ballast Point and Black Tap Craft Burgers & Shakes and the reimagining of the World of Disney store — will all be introduced over the next few months while Downtown Disney remains open to guests.
