Update on PizzeRizzo Closing at Disney’s Hollywood Studios

Last week a rumor was going around that PizzeRizzo would be closing at Disney’s Hollywood Studios.  The rumor stemmed from Disney Cast Members being told the quick service restaurant would close on October 20, 2018.  Many speculated whether this was a temporary closure or maybe the restaurant would be reimagined into something else.

© Disney

A Disney spokesperson has addressed the issue stating that this will be a temporary closure which will last for several months.  Currently, PizzeRizzo is scheduled to close on October 27, 2018 and reopen sometime in spring 2019.

Disney did not state the reason for the closure.

In case you aren’t familiar, PizzeRizzo is a quick-service restaurant located in the Grand Area of Disney’s Hollywood Studios and serves up Italian Cuisine like pizzas and meatball subs.  The restaurant used to be Pizza Planet before it was reimagined as the this friendly neighborhood joint run by Rizzo, the wise-cracking Muppet.
