Muppets Courtyard to Become Grand Park at Disney’s Hollywood Studios

Last month, Disney announced a new area called Grand Avenue would be coming soon to Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Disney describes this area as capturing the spirit of present-day Downtown Los Angeles by showing vintage office buildings and warehouses representing the different vibrant districts and cultures of the city.  Baseline Taphouse, a cheerful corner pub, will also be in this area  and specialize in small bites, beer and wines from California.

Today, Disney shared a few more details regarding Grand Avenue which now includes the current Muppets Courtyard area along with a portion of the former Streets of America.  Guests will soon see facades for “merchants” appearing in this area for a music shop, loft apartments, a tailor and more, with each window on the street featuring charming displays.

According to Disney, the current Muppets Courtyard will become Grand Park, an urban square off Grand Avenue surrounded by shops and restaurants like PizzeRizzo and Mama Melrose’s Ristorante Italiano. Guests can already see changes in the area, with the Muppets theater being renamed “Grand Arts Theatre” and boasting a brand-new marquee.  Best of all, the fan-favorite “Muppet*Vision 3D” show will remain.

Grand Avenue is slated to open this fall at Disney’s Hollywood Studios .
