Marvel Studios has released a new featurette video showing the films and special events that have led to Avengers: Endgame. Take a look below.
“Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy: Mission Breakout!” will feature distinct animation styles in a multipart story arc kicking off SUNDAY, MAY 5 (9:30–10:30 p.m. EDT/PDT), with two back-to-back episodes on Disney XD and DisneyNOW. In the new storyline, the Guardians, desperate to escape the Collector’s collapsing ship, jump into the Black Vortex Mirror and find themselves separated and trapped in strange new worlds. Crossing time and dimensions, each world was developed using different animation techniques to visually support the storytelling, including CG-stop motion, children’s book illustration, 8-bit, motion comic – all firsts for a Marvel animated series – as well as Golden Age and traditional CG.
The premiere schedule is as follows:
Sunday, May 5 (9:30 p.m. EDT/PDT)
“Black Vortex, Part One” – When the Guardians become separated in the Black Vortex, Gamora wakes up in a children’s fairy tale, while Drax is trapped in a comic book.
“Black Vortex, Part Two” – While caught in a CG sinister packing factory, Rocket must search for his best friend Groot and escape.
Sunday, May 12 (9:30 p.m. EDT/PDT)
“Black Vortex, Part Three” – Quill finds himself in a claymation world where the Milano is flying into the sun, threatening to melt him. Meanwhile, Groot and Drax must fight Ronan in a Golden Age world.
“Black Vortex, Part Four” – Gamora and Quill battle their way through an 8-bit Super Marvel World.
“Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy: Mission Breakout!” stars Will Friedle (Disney’s “Kim Possible”) as Peter Quill/Star-Lord, Trevor Devall (“Johnny Test”) as Rocket Raccoon, Vanessa Marshall (“Star Wars Rebels”) as Gamora, David Sobolov (“Transformers: Prime”) as Drax the Destroyer and Kevin Michael Richardson (“The Cleveland Show”) as Groot.
Produced by Marvel Animation, the series’ award-winning creative team includes executive producers Alan Fine (“Marvel’s The Avengers”), Joe Quesada (“Marvel’s Avengers Assemble”), Dan Buckley (“Marvel’s Avengers Assemble”), Cort Lane (“Marvel’s Ultimate Spider-Man”) and Eric Radomski (“Marvel’s Avengers Assemble”).
Following the week in Las Vegas, “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” returns to Los Angeles to welcome the cast of Marvel’s “Avengers: Endgame.” Each night, Jimmy will welcome guests including Robert Downey Jr., Scarlett Johansson, Paul Rudd, Chris Hemsworth, Danai Gurira, Jeremy Renner and Don Cheadle.
Today, Disney announced Avengers Universe Unites, an epic charity event that supports The Walt Disney Company’s signature philanthropic commitment, Disney Team of Heroes, which delivers comfort and inspiration to seriously ill children around the world. Actors Robert Downey Jr., Chris Hemsworth, Scarlett Johansson, Jeremy Renner, Paul Rudd and Brie Larson—stars of Avengers: Endgame—visited the Disneyland Resort to celebrate the donation of more than $5 million to nonprofits supporting children with critical illnesses.
In celebration of Marvel Studios’ highly anticipated film, Disney, the LEGO Group, Hasbro, Funko and Amazon will donate more than $5 million in cash and toys to Starlight Foundation, which will benefit children’s hospitals across the U.S. The donation includes $1 million in cash from Disney to Starlight Children’s Foundation, as well as more than $4 million in Avengers: Endgame toys and products from the LEGO Group, Hasbro, Funko and Amazon that will be sent to hundreds of children’s hospitals throughout the country, as well as Give Kids the World, a nonprofit resort in central Florida.
“The superheroes in Avengers personify traits like courage, perseverance, bravery and hope—the same traits countless kids and their families in children’s hospitals exhibit every day,” said Robert A. Iger, chairman and CEO of The Walt Disney Company, who joined the kickoff celebration. “We are grateful to have the Avengers cast take time out of their day to be a part of this effort to lift spirits and bring comfort to children during a difficult time.”
During today’s celebration, the Avengers: Endgame stars joined kids from the Boys & Girls Clubs of Anaheim and Garden Grove for a larger-than-life LEGO® build at The LEGO Store in Downtown Disney and were treated to a visit by Amazon’s Treasure Truck stocked with a variety of Avengers: Endgame toys.
“Nobody understands magical experiences better than Disney, and we’ve been proud to partner with them in bringing those experiences to kids in children’s hospitals for more than 20 years,” says Adam Garone, CEO, Starlight Children’s Foundation. “From delivering hospital care packages, to storytelling through Starlight Xperience virtual reality, to our recent Disney-themed Starlight Gowns, millions of seriously ill children have benefited from our amazing relationship together. And with this donation, even more kids will get to experience the magic of Disney.”
Critically acclaimed series “Marvel’s Cloak & Dagger” is the story of Tandy Bowen (Olivia Holt) and Tyrone Johnson (Aubrey Joseph)—two teenagers from very different backgrounds who find themselves burdened and awakened to newly acquired superpowers, which are mysteriously linked to one another. The only constants in their lives are danger and each other. Tandy can emit light daggers and Tyrone has the ability to control the power of darkness. They quickly learn they are better together than apart.
Premiering on THURSDAY, APRIL 4, at 8:00 pm EST/PST with a two-hour episode, season two turns the heat up on our young heroes as Tyrone and Tandy try to find their place as more active heroes in this world. As they learn and grow emotionally, so will their skills. In season one, we saw Tandy and Ty dip their toes into the world of hopes and fears; this season, they will dive deeper into this metaphysical pool. With enhanced powers and a decision to make about the type of heroes they want to be, they make the choice to run into the danger, head first. They tackle a heartless vigilante and uncover an evil that’s been preying on the young women of the city, as the show takes on more serious topics like gang violence and human trafficking.
“Marvel’s Cloak & Dagger” stars Olivia Holt, Aubrey Joseph, Emma
Lahana, Gloria Reuben, Andrea Roth and J.D. Evermore. The series is executive produced by showrunner Joe Pokaski (“Underground,” “Marvel’s Daredevil”) and Marvel’s Head of Television Jeph Loeb (Marvel’s The Punisher,” “Marvel’s Jessica Jones”). It is co-produced by Marvel Television and ABC Signature Studios.
