Summer of Heroes kicks off May 27, 2017 at Disney California Adventure park at the Disneyland Resort. During this limited time event, guests can experience the attraction Guardians of the Galaxy – Mission: BREAKOUT!, character encounters, and super hero themed food and beverage items. Let’s take a look at all the deliciousness this event has to offer!
Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa at Disneyland Resort is currently undergoing a huge refurbishment with completely redesigned guest rooms, a refreshed lobby, pool areas and the concierge-level Craftsman Club. The new renovations will elevate the premium guest experience and bring a contemporary approach to the Arts & Crafts design style.
Recently named a AAA Four Diamond hotel by the Automobile Club of Southern California for the sixteenth year in a row, the 948-room Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa captures the romantic spirit of California’s Arts & Crafts movement in the early 20th century.
“Our renovation adds more luxury to this iconic Southern California hotel, while staying committed to its signature Arts & Crafts design,” said Dan Coleman, General Manager of Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa. “We want our guests to feel they are staying in a Disney hotel that’s distinctly situated in beautiful California. The revitalized design helps convey this feeling and allows us to continue exceeding guest expectations.”
Redesigned Guest Rooms
Every single element in the redesigned guest rooms will be new, creating a fresh sense of luxury – from floor and walls to furnishings, bedding and linens, as well as upgraded bathrooms. Upon entry, guests will notice beautiful hardwood flooring transitioning into soft, bright-toned carpeting. Linens and pillows are restyled in a bright, white palette and upgraded bathrooms include new fixtures. The room decor is a contemporary take on the Arts & Crafts style featuring all-new furniture made of natural oak, specially designed for each room, as well as California-inspired artwork created by artists and Disney Imagineers, including beautiful headboard walls with wood inlay designs featuring Chip ‘n Dale climbing orange trees! Guests with sharp eyes will catch other uniquely Disney details throughout these newly enhanced rooms.
Pools: The pools and surrounding areas have been redesigned with new hardscapes that reinforce the Arts and Crafts feeling of this premier Disney resort. A variety of natural stones were chosen to create a warm and welcoming environment at each pool.
Lobby: The already spectacular six-story Grand Hall lobby will continue to impress guests with new, stylish furnishings to complement the existing Arts and Crafts décor.
The Craftsman Club: The new design for The Craftsman Club, the hotel’s concierge-level lounge, will draw inspiration from the architectural and furniture designs of Charles Rennie Mackintosh, a visionary of the Glasgow Style of the Arts and Crafts movement. New hardwood flooring, custom-designed rugs, finely-crafted artisanal furniture and specially- commissioned art will add to the sophisticated, upscale tone of the Club.
The renovations are expected to be complete in the fall of 2017.
We are anxiously awaiting the Summer of Heroes event breaking out at Disney California Adventure park next week, however that’s not the only entertainment coming to Hollywood Land this summer. Beginning May 26, the “Disney Junior Dance Party!” will kick off providing interactive fun for all ages with your favorite Disney Junior characters.
Disney has shared the following details on this high-energy event:
Interactive Magic: “Disney Junior Dance Party!” is a musically-infused live concert featuring a DJ and a Party Host who encourage guests to get up and move to their favorite Disney Junior songs. In an exhilarating experience for little ones, bubbles, snow and confetti fill the room, inviting everyone to reach out and touch the fun.
Beloved Disney Junior Stories: Inspiration for the storytelling in “Disney Junior Dance Party!” comes from four popular Disney Junior TV shows: the new “Mickey and the Roadster Racers,” along with “Doc McStuffins,” “Sofia the First” and “The Lion Guard.” Disney Junior is where the enchantment of Disney storytelling often begins for young guests, and those stories come alive in “Disney Junior Dance Party!”
Fun for Everyone!: This charming live show is sure to be a must-see for guests, and especially for families with young children. As little ones are immersed in the interactive fun with some of their favorite Disney Junior characters, parents will recognize the way the magic becomes so real for young children.
Conga line!: “Kids are going to be surrounded by the energy that is Disney Junior,” said Brad Kaye, principal art director, Disney Parks Live Entertainment. “They’ll be on their feet from the time they walk into the theater until they form the conga line at the end.”
Those of you who are anxiously awaiting the release of “Cars 3” this summer will be happy to hear a preview of the film is now being shown at Disneyland Resort.
Beginning today, guests visiting Disney California Adventure Park can catch a sneak peek of “Cars 3” presented in 3D with special in-theater effects at the Bug’s Life Theater.
In case you aren’t familiar with the story, Disney has shared the following synopsis of the film:
Blindsided by a new generation of blazing-fast racers, the legendary Lightning McQueen (voice of Owen Wilson) is suddenly pushed out of the sport he loves. To get back in the game, he will need the help of an eager young race technician, Cruz Ramirez (voice of Cristela Alonzo), with her own plan to win, plus inspiration from the late Fabulous Hudson Hornet and a few unexpected turns. Proving that #95 isn’t through yet will test the heart of a champion on Piston Cup Racing’s biggest stage!
Disney•Pixar’s “Cars 3” is directed by Brian Fee (storyboard artist “Cars,” “Cars 2“), produced by Kevin Reher (“A Bug’s Life,” “La Luna” short) and co-produced by Andrea Warren (“LAVA” short).
