Today Disney announced some new details for Terralina Crafted Italian coming to Disney Springs early next year. This restaurant will take over the space previously occupied by Portobello Country Italian Trattoria and is expected to transport guests to “la dolce vita,” (the sweet life) essence of the spectacular Lake District of Northern Italy.
“The story here is of a first-generation Italian family, from the Lake District, who built a home in Disney Springs, expanding it over the years to welcome more friends and neighbors to enjoy their hospitality, and, of course, food! At Terralina Crafted Italian, every detail supports the philosophy that ‘life is meant to be savored through the simplest of pleasures.’ The table is even set that way … ready for good conversations, storytelling and moments to be enjoyed,” states Alison Weber, Chief Creative Officer for Levy.
According to Disney, an open rotunda will welcome guests with a rustic stone fireplace, a new outdoor patio with a veranda bar that spills out into the Disney Springs promenade, and a two-story glass conservatory that showcases stunning views of Lake Buena Vista, every element of the décor feels fresh and new. There will even be an herb garden outside the front doors, giving a nod to the medley of flavors that are waiting to be discovered inside and the curated collection of family photos and vintage heirlooms that are scattered throughout the space.
Terralina Crafted Italian will open in early 2018 with James Beard Award-winning Chef Tony Mantuano returning from Portobello to curate the new menu, and Chef Justin Plank will be back to run the kitchen. Stay tuned for more details.
Oh Boy! Casey’s Corner at Magic Kingdom has revealed their hot dog of the month for December. The Hot Diggity Holiday Dog is topped with pulled pork and cranberry cole slaw, served with your choice of French fries or apple slices for $12.49, plus tax.
Casey’s Corner is located on Main Street U.S.A. and serves hot dogs, corn dog nuggets, French fries, cotton candy and Cracker Jack.
Ale & Compass at Disney’s Yacht Club Resort have released reservations beginning on Thanksgiving Day. In addition, Ale & Compass Restaurant is one of the featured restaurants included in the Candlelight Processional Dining Package, which includes a 3-course meal and guaranteed priority seating at Candlelight Processional.
Black Tap Craft Burgers & Beer will open its first California location in the Downtown Disney District at the Disneyland Resort next year. The restaurant known for its award-winning burgers and signature CrazyShake milkshakes is creating a customized concept for its Downtown Disney District location.
Black Tap will be set in a casual atmosphere reminiscent of a classic American luncheonette, but with a distinctly New York vibe. It will also have indoor and outdoor seating.
Black Tap’s menu will include burgers ranging from the classic All-American to The Vegan Burger. In addition, their specialty “CrazyShakes” will boast whimsical and over-the-top decorations and flavors, such as The Cotton Candy Shake and The Bam Bam Shake.
Disney states that construction is scheduled to begin soon, across from Catal Restaurant and Uva Bar.
The Holiday Kitchens at the Epcot International Festival of the Holidays open November 19 featuring flavors of the season with scrumptious bites, decadent desserts and merry libations. The number of holiday kitchens doubles in size this year to a total of 15, each bringing the flavors of the season to life. Kitchens are open daily through December 30, 2017 from noon to 8:00 PM.
