Bongos at Disney Springs Permanently Closing in August 2019

Bongos Cuban Café at Disney Springs will permanently close this August. The restaurant is owned by Latin music icons Gloria and Emilio Estefan who have stated they are growing in a different direction.

The couple are planning to bring their Estefan Kitchen restaurant to Margartaville Resort Orlando in Kissimmee. It will be at the Sunset Walk shopping and dining district at the newly opened Margaritaville property on U.S. Highway 192 west of Interstate 4, and is slated to open this winter.

Disney has not made an official announcement regarding the closing of Bongos or what might be replacing the restaurant.

Flying Carpet Flatbreads Now at Jock Lindsey’s Hangar Bar at Disney Springs

To celebrate the live-action release of Aladdin in theaters, Jock Lindsey’s Hangar Bar at Disney Springs has debuted 2 new menu items for a limited time. The “Flying Carpet Flatbreads” which come in Sticky Date or Stolen Apple options will be available through June 21.

Medjool Dates, Manchego, Caramelized Onions, Crispy Prosciutto, Balsamic Glaze, Fresh Rosemary

Stolen Apple
Fuji Apple and Arugula Salad, Apple Blossoms, Arugula Pesto, Goat Cheese, Lamb Sausage

Cost is $9 each.

Jock Lindsey’s Hangar Bar is located is The Landing at Disney Springs and serves up a variety of signature libations. They also have a Happy Hour Monday – Thursday 3-6:30pm & 9-11pm and Friday 3-6:30pm.

If you’d like to try additional Aladdin-inspired treats while you’re at Disney Springs, head to Vivo Il Gelato in The Landing for “The Magic Lamp Milkshake “ which features salted caramel gelato and Nutella brownies in a white chocolate dipped cone topped with chocolate sauce, whipped cream, and blue sprinkles.

Or, head to Amorette’s Patisserie for the Aladdin-inspired petit cake which features layers of Almond Chiffon cake with Amoretto Simple Syrup, Fig Pate de Fruit, 5 Spice mousse, Almond Pecan Granola, and Golden Raisin Jam.

Disney’s Aladdin flies into theaters on May 24, 2019.

Strawberry Shortcake Bar Cupcake Arrives at Sprinkles

The Strawberry Shortcake Bar Cupcake is now available at Sprinkles at Disney Springs at Walt Disney World Resort and in the Downtown Disney District at the Disneyland Resort!  This special treat features vanilla cake filled with strawberry compote topped with strawberry buttercream frosting and strawberry crumble. Hurry! This cupcake is only available through June 2!

Amorette’s Patisserie has added a new Aladdin-inspired petit cake to its menu. This sweet treat features layers of Almond Chiffon cake with Amoretto Simple Syrup, Fig Pate de Fruit, 5 Spice mousse, Almond Pecan Granola, and Golden Raisin Jam. Cost is $16.

Banana Split Cupcake Returns to Sprinkles
