Disney Springs is about to get a new “Modern Barbecue” eating establishment which will provide a fast-casual location for guests to grab some delicious wood-smoked and grilled fare items. The Polite Pig will open April 10 in Town Center and serve up featured items like the Southern Pig Sandwich with pulled pork off the smoker, apple slaw, mustard sauce and Duke’s mayo; peel-and-eat shrimp with bourbon-cocktail sauce, and crispy Brussels sprouts with whiskey caramel. There’s even a sauce bar to top off your selections featuring 7 different types of sauces.
The Polite Pig is owned by husband-and-wife team James and Julie Petrakis. The Orlando Chefs also own the Ravenous Pig and Swine & Sons in Winter Park and Cask & Larder at Orlando International Airport. Their hope is to represent the atmosphere found at these restaurants in a new environment.
“We’ll have 190 seats, and the décor pays homage to the beloved swine of The Polite Pig, as well as antiquity. Whimsical pigs on various adventures can be seen throughout the space, and rustic touches are used for custom featured art pieces. Large faded graphics also adorn the main wall of the space adding to the feel of the long-time family run business,” says Julie.
Southern sides found on the menu include a tomato and watermelon salad, mac and cheese and smoked corn with lime butter. For those looking for an adult beverage, the restaurant will serve Cask & Larder Brewery beers, Florida/domestic craft beers, 5 cocktails on tap and also an extensive Bourbon Bar with more than 50 selections.
Disney Junior’s Play ‘n Dine lunch at Hollywood & Vine at Disney’s Hollywood Studios was supposed to come to an end this May, and Minnie’s Seasonal Dine was to acquire the lunchtime spot. Well, it seems there’s been a change of plans and fans of Jake the Pirate, Sofia the First, Handy Manny, and Doc McStuffins will be happy to know their favorite characters will be sticking around for lunch through September 3, 2017.
Beginning September 4, Minnie’s Seasonal Dine will take over the lunch slot, however Disney Junior’s Play ‘n Dine will continue for breakfast.
Currently, Minnie’s seasonal dine only occurs at dinner.

Pandora – The World of Avatar is looking like it will be the place to grab a bite to eat at Disney’s Animal Kingdom this summer. Satu’li Canteen is the name of the quick-service eatery in this new land and along with offering creative and flavorful dishes with a twist, guests will also find a perk of convenience.
Satu’li Canteen will be the first restaurant to offer Mobile Order, a new way to order and pay for meals on-the-go within the My Disney Experience app, allowing guests to bypass the queue to order when they arrive at the restaurant. Using the app, guests can select menu items, customize their order and pre-pay for their meal. When they arrive at the restaurant they will tap an “I’m here” button in the app, which will notify the kitchen to prepare the meal. When ready, guests will be alerted through the app to pick up their meal at a designated window.
It also looks like we could see additional quick-service restaurants at Walt Disney World to offer Mobile Order in the near future.
Additionally, please note Mobile Orders can only accept credit cards for payment right now and not the Disney Dining Plan.
Satu’li Canteen opens up with the rest of Pandora – The World of Avatar at Disney’s Animal Kingdom on May 27, 2017.
