‘American Idol’ Auditions to Be Held at Walt Disney World and Disneyland Resorts

It doesn’t seem that long ago when we watched  the series finale of “American Idol” on Fox and listened to Ryan Seacrest bid his final farewell at the end of the broadcast…for now…

Well, “for now” is upon us as it has been confirmed the reality series will be returning to television on the  Disney-owned ABC network.  And with this exciting news, TMZ is claiming that auditions for the revamped show will be taking place at Walt Disney World Resort in Florida and possibly at  Disneyland Resort in California.

Details are scarce at the moment, but we’ll keep you updated with any further information.

Disneyland Announces Guardians of the Galaxy – Mission: BREAKOUT! Galactic Premiere Party

 

How would you like to be one of the very first guests to experience  Guardians of the Galaxy – Mission: BREAKOUT! at Disney California Adventure?  Well, you are in luck because today Disneyland Resort announced it will host the “Guardians of the Galaxy Mission: BREAKOUT! Galactic Premiere Party where guests can celebrate the opening of the attraction a day before it officially opens to the public.

The event is scheduled to take place on Friday, May 26 from 7pm to 1am where attendees will have full access to Hollywood Land AND can experience all 6 versions of the Guardians of the Galaxy – Mission: BREAKOUT! ride.  Other highlights of the night include character meet and greets, dance party, panel discussion, unique photo opportunities and more.

Here’s what admission to Guardians of the Galaxy – Mission: BREAKOUT! Galactic Premiere Party gives you:

  • Party Admission – Access to Hollywood Land at Disney California Adventure Park from 7:00 PM to 1:00 AM (check-in begins at 6:00 PM).
  • Attraction Access –  Attempt to experience all 6 versions of the thrilling Guardians of the Galaxy – Mission: BREAKOUT! at your leisure throughout the party.
  • Heroic Encounters – Meet up with Black Widow, Hawkeye, Spider-Man and Captain America.
  • Music, Dancing and Cosplay Showcase – A live DJ will be spinning tunes at the dance floor.
  • Panel Discussion – Get the scoop from some Imagineers behind Guardians of the Galaxy – Mission: BREAKOUT!
  • Super Hero Comic Academy – Learn to draw a classic comic book character.
  • $15 Food and Beverage Voucher – Taste new Summer of Heroes menu items! Voucher redeemable during the event at select Hollywood Land food and beverage locations.
  • Souvenir Photos – Take Disney PhotoPass photos during the event and enjoy unlimited PhotoPass downloads of them later.
  • Snap-Worthy Backdrops – Pose in front of special one-night-only Disney PhotoPass locations.
  • Collectible Souvenirs – As you enter, you’ll get a decoder card for discovering hidden details in The Collector’s fortress! As you leave, receive a limited-edition pin, hat, tote bag, comic book and more (limit one of each available item per Guest).

Tickets are $150 per person for adults and children ages 3 and older (ticket not required for children under 3).

Special Dining Opportunities for Mother’s Day at Disneyland Resort

 

Mother’s Day is quickly approaching and Disneyland Resort has some great to ways to treat mom on her special day.  Carthay Circle at Disney California Adventure, Storytellers Café at Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa, and Steakhouse 55 at Disneyland Hotel will all have special dining opportunities on Sunday, May 14.

Carthay Circle Restaurant at Disney California Adventure park created a new dish for the holiday: the Carthay Benedict, with two poached eggs on grilled petite filet mignon medallions with country cornbread, ranchero black beans and poblano chili Hollandaise. This special treat will be served from 11:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Over at Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa, Storytellers Cafe will feature a breakfast buffet with characters (no a la carte menu) from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. The lunch-dinner buffet begins at 2 p.m. and ends at 10 p.m. – both offering salads, charcuterie, hot selections and plenty of sweets. Best of all, Disney characters will be there for plenty of photo opportunities. Breakfast is $37, $22 for ages 3 to 11; and lunch/dinner is $40, $24 ages 3 to 11.

Another unique experience  for mom is the Classic Afternoon Tea at Steakhouse 55 at the Disneyland Hotel.  The restaurant will offer Mother’s Day-themed desserts along with the traditional teas, scones, tea sandwiches and more. Add a mimosa, sparkling wine or a little sherry, or stick with the fabulous teas – from a lavender Early Grey to Organic Pear Tree. The Classic Tea includes tea, scones and tea sandwiches ($50), and the Premium Tea starts with a glass of sparkling wine and adds a salad and truffles ($65). Gluten free and vegan options are available.
