A Musical Episode of ‘Raven’s Home’ Premiers Friday, October 12 on Disney Channel

Actress, singer and series executive producer Raven-Symoné leads the multitalented “Raven’s Home” cast in a dynamic musical episode, “Raven’s Home: Remix,” about self-empowerment and self-expression. Directed by Paul Hoen (“ZOMBIES,” “Camp Rock 2,” “Let it Shine”) and choreographed by Will “WilldaBeast” Adams (“America’s Best Dance Crew,” “Glee”), the episode premieres FRIDAY, OCT. 12 (8:00-8:30 p.m. EDT/PDT), on Disney Channel, in the DisneyNOW app and DisneyVOD. It features eight original songs and dance numbers performed by the cast: Raven-Symoné, Issac Ryan Brown, Navia Robinson, Jason Maybaum, Sky Katz and Anneliese van der Pol.

The “Raven’s Home” musical episode will usher in the series premiere of “Coop & Cami Ask the World” (8:30-9:00 p.m. EDT/PDT) on Disney Channel.

In “Raven’s Home: Remix,” Booker sets out to land the starring role in the school’s musical about a boy who loves playing basketball and performing hip-hop. When Raven has a vision of Booker receiving a standing ovation, she’s convinced he’s perfect for the role and encourages him to go for it. However, when Nia discovers the part requires someone who is great at basketball and can rap – two things Tess excels at – she tries to convince Coach Spitz to let Tess audition for the role. When he refuses because Tess is a girl, a determined Nia takes a stand to prove girls can do anything boys can do.

The original songs featured in “Raven’s Home: Remix” were written and produced by The Heavyweights; the GRAMMY® nominated production team composed of  Jamie Jones, Jack Kugell and Matt Wong; along with songwriter Hanna Jones. The multi-platinum team has delivered hit songs that have collectively amassed over 35 million units sold, including music featured in “Descendants 2” and Disney’s “ZOMBIES.”
The”Raven’s Home: Remix, The Musical Episode”digital soundtrack features original songs from the episode and will be available for download and at streaming services Oct. 7 (9:00 p.m. PDT) on Walt Disney Records.

“Raven’s Home” stars Raven-Symoné, who reprises her role as Raven Baxter from the iconic comedy “That’s So Raven” (2003-07); Issac Ryan Brown as Booker Baxter-Carter; Navia Robinson as Nia Baxter-Carter; Jason Maybaum as Levi Grayson; Sky Katz as Tess; and, reprising her “That’s So Raven” role, Anneliese van der Pol as Chelsea Daniels.

Since premiering in July 2017, “Raven’s Home” is Disney Channel’s #2 series in Total Viewers, Kids 6-11, Kids 6-14 and Tweens 9-14, behind only “Andi Mack.” Since its debut, “Raven’s Home” has generated nearly 75 million views across all social and digital viewing platforms, including 49.3 million total video views on social media and 25.3 million views on VOD.

The second season of “Raven’s Home” is executive produced by Raven-Symoné, Dava Savel and Michael Feldman (writer/producers on “That’s So Raven”). The series was created by Michael Poryes and Susan Sherman, and developed by Jed Elinoff and Scott Thomas. “Raven’s Home” is a production of It’s a Laugh Productions, Inc. and carries a TV-G parental guideline.


Hollywood’s Biggest Stars to Appear on ‘Mickey’s 90th Spectacular,’ Airing Sunday, Nov. 4, on ABC

ABC announced today a star-studded lineup of music, film and television stars who will join the celebration of Mickey Mouse on “Mickey’s 90th Spectacular,” airing SUNDAY, NOV. 4 (8:00-10:01 p.m. EST), on The ABC Television Network. The two-hour television event honoring 90 years of the internationally beloved character will feature appearances by actress, activist and mom Kristen Bell (Disney’s “Frozen”), actress and Hollywood Records/Republic Records recording artist Sofia Carson (Disney’s “Descendants,” Freeform’s upcoming “Pretty Little Liars: The Perfectionists”), two-time EmmyÒ Award-winning actor Tony Hale (“Veep,” “Arrested Development”), and actress Sarah Hyland (ABC’s “Modern Family”), as well as special musical performances by Josh Groban, NCT 127, Leslie Odom Jr., Meghan Trainor and Zac Brown Band. Mr. Iger will make a special appearance during the evening’s festivities. More names and details on the exciting performances will be announced soon.

GRAMMY® Award-winning singer, songwriter and TV, film and Broadway actor Josh Groban will be singing his new hit song, “Granted,” from his recently released eighth studio album, “Bridges.”  Groban has sold more than 30 million records over his illustrious music career and has entertained fans across the globe with his electrifying live performances, and comedic film and television appearances. In 2017, he concluded his Broadway run as Pierre in “Natasha, Pierre & The Great Comet of 1812,” which was described as “one of the best musicals of the decade.” He is currently starring on “The Good Cop,” opposite Tony Danza. Groban is an arts education advocate. Through his own foundation, Find Your Light, he raises millions to help enrich the lives of young people through arts, education and cultural awareness.

Seoul-based global K-Pop powerhouse NCT 127 will perform their popular hit, “Regular.” With 3.3 million Instagram followers and a fanbase that won’t quit, NCT 127 has shaken up the K-Pop world since their 2016 arrival with their unique and conceptually progressive artistry. The breakout boy band of 10 (Taeyong, Taeil, Johnny, Yuta, Doyoung, Jaehyun, Winwin, Mark, Haechan and newly added Jungwoo), has found a unique way to connect with their growing fanbase outside of their Seoul home. Known for mixing genres, NCT 127 combines sounds in pop, R&B, hip-hop and Latin trap. Their first full-length studio album, “NCT #127 Regular-Irregular,” is out everywhere Oct. 12.

Tony® and GRAMMY Award-winning performer Leslie Odom Jr. will perform the classic “When You Wish Upon A Star” from the 1940 Disney adaptation of “Pinnochio.” Best known for his breakout role as Aaron Burr in the smash-hit Broadway musical “Hamilton,” Odom Jr. won the Tony Award for Best Actor in a Musical for his performance. He also won a GRAMMY Award as a principal soloist on the original cast recording.

GRAMMY Award-winning singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Meghan Trainor will perform the Randy Newman hit and “Toy Story” franchise theme song, “You’ve Got a Friend in Me.” Trainor emerged with her 2014 breakout single “All About That Bass” and has cemented her rising status as one of the most prominent artists in popular music by charting seven multiplatinum singles, releasing two platinum albums, selling out three headline tours, writing multiplatinum hits for top pop and country artists, and receiving countless industry awards and nominations worldwide.  She is one of only five female artists to receive a diamond certification for her hit single “All About That Bass,” which shares the RIAA Gold & Platinum Awards top honor with only 15 other singles in history. Trainor released her first single, “No Excuses,” from her highly anticipated third studio album, “Treat Myself,” in spring 2018.

Three-time GRAMMY-winning multiplatinum artists Zac Brown Band will perform “Bare Necessities” from the classic Disney film “The Jungle Book.” Zac Brown Band have had five consecutive albums reach the Top 10 of the Billboard 200 and four consecutive albums debut at No. 1 on Billboard’s Country Albums chart. To date, the group has sold more than 25 million singles and eight million albums. They have achieved 15 No. 1 radio singles and are the second act to top both the Country and Active Rock formats. Freeform to Host 90-Minute ‘Hocus Pocus 25th Anniversary Halloween Bash’ Special

Freeform announced today that it will air “Hocus Pocus 25th Anniversary Halloween Bash,” an all-star party in honor of the cult classic film’s milestone anniversary. The 90-minute special, filmed at the iconic Hollywood Forever Cemetery to celebrate the movie’s status as a Halloween staple, will premiere on SATURDAY, OCT. 20, at 8:15 PM EDT/PDT as part of Freeform’s “31 Nights of Halloween” programming event.

“Hocus Pocus 25th Anniversary Halloween Bash” will feature musical performances by Dove Cameron, PrettyMuch, and Junior New System, as well as a “Hocus Pocus” themed costume contest, judged by Sharon Osbourne and Kelly Osbourne. The special will also include exclusive interviews with “Hocus Pocus” cast and crew members Sarah Jessica Parker (“Sarah Sanderson”), Kathy Najimy (“Mary Sanderson”), Kenny Ortega (Director), Mick Garris (Writer), David Kirschner (Writer), Omri Katz (“Max”), Thora Birch (“Dani”), Amanda Shepherd (“Emily”), Doug Jones (“Billy Butcherson”), Larry Bagby (“Ernie”), Jason Marsden (voice of “Thackery Binx”), Tobias Jelinek (“Jay”), Peggy Holmes (choreographer) and John Debney (Composer). The night of Oct. 20 will be full of bewitching fun as the network will also be airing a “Pop’n Knowledge” edition of “Hocus Pocus,” before and after the Bash at 6:05 PM EDT/PDT and 9:45 PM EDT/PDT. The special edition will celebrate everything about the iconic film and the fandom with a mix of trivia, funny observations and commentary around key moments and quotes. This “Pop’n Knowledge” version of “Hocus Pocus” is an experience no fan should miss!

Freeform has expanded their annual Halloween programming event to “31 Nights of Halloween” bringing more thrills and chills to the entire month. From Oct. 1, the network will be invaded by everyone’s favorite witches, a murderous barber, out of control dinosaurs and everything else that goes bump in the night. “Hocus Pocus” will air throughout the most haunting stunt on television, as well as conclude the event with a day-long marathon featuring the Sanderson Sisters on Oct. 31.

ILMxLAB Announces Title for Darth Vader Virtual Reality Series in Collaboration with Oculus

ILMxLAB, Lucasfilm’s immersive entertainment division, officially unveiled the title of their highly anticipated virtual reality project, Vader Immortal: A Star Wars VR Series, at Oculus Connect 5 in San Jose, CA. The first episode of the three-part series is set to launch in 2019 on the newly announced Oculus Quest.

Vicki Dobbs Beck, ILMxLAB Executive in Charge, and David S. Goyer, award-winning Writer and Executive Producer, joined together onstage for the surprise reveal. In addition to the official series title, they announced ILMxLAB’s collaboration with Oculus and gave a first look by sharing the official teaser trailer which closed out the livestreamed keynote.
