Universal Shares Additional Details on New Aventura Hotel

Today, Universal Orlando resort shared some additional details on the new Aventura Hotel which is set to open August 1, 2018.  This hotel will be Universal’s most technologically advanced hotel yet and feature 600 standard rooms and suites all with floor-to-ceiling windows showcasing incredible views of the Universal Orlando theme parks.

Guests will be able to enjoy their savvy accommodations while they use the provided in-room tablet to control many of the room’s features, like the TV, temperature and more.

Additionally, the hotel will also have a virtual reality game room and dive-in movie experience with an underwater speaker system in the hotel’s resort-style pool. Sounds pretty cool, right?

If you can’t wait to experience the Aventura Hotel for yourself then you’ll want watch the 360 VR tour below which takes you on a journey around the hotel, including the pool, a room and Universal’s first ever rooftop bar. Try it with VR goggles or Google Cardboard for the fully immersive experience.

Reservations are now open for stays beginning August 2018. Rates start at as low as $97 per night for a seven-night stay and $116 per night for a four-night stay.

Universal Orlando Announces Fast & Furious – Supercharged Will Debut in Spring 2018

Today, Universal Orlando Resort announced the highly anticipated Fast & Furious – Supercharged attraction will open in spring 2018.

According to Universal, this action-packed ride will take guests on a high-octane journey that fuses an original storyline, incredible ride technology, popular characters, exhilarating environments, nonstop action and, of course, high-speed cars. You’ll feel like part of the Fast & Furious family as they join Dom Toretto, Hobbs, Letty and Roman on a thrilling new Fast & Furious journey.

This new attraction will also feature the Virtual Line experience. This allows you to select a time to ride in advance so you can wait in line, virtually, as you enjoy other experiences throughout the park.

REMINDER: Mission: SPACE at Epcot Closed for Refurbishment

Beginning today, Mission: SPACE at Epcot has closed for a lengthy refurbishment this summer.  The attraction is scheduled to be closed June 5 – July 28; reopening to guests on July 29, 2017.  This also includes the Advanced Training Lab.

Minnie’s Summertime Dine Begins June 5 at Hollywood & Vine

We have officially entered the summer season at Walt Disney World which means it’s time for Minnie’s Summertime Dine to begin at Hollywood & Vine at Disney’s Hollywood Studios.  This special dining event is hosted by Minnie Mouse and her pals including Mickey, Donald, Daisy, and Goofy too!  Enjoy a mix of unique music and décor with menu items commemorating a beach-inspired bash celebrating the sizzle of summer!

Minnie’s Seasonal Dining events cost $50 per adult and $30 per child, plus tax and gratuity. Some dining plans accepted.

New Menu Items Debut at Epcot’s Coral Reef Restaurant

Disney’s Coral Reef is one of the most unique dining options at Walt Disney World. You’ll find the table service restaurant located inside The Seas with Nemo and Friends in Epcot’s Future World and it happens to boast the largest inland saltwater environment ever built (it holds enough water to fill 54 Olympic-sized swimming pools).  Guests can dine on American and Seafood Cuisine as they feast their eyes upon a living coral reef which is home to 4,000 amazing sea creatures including 85 species of tropical fish, sharks, sea turtles, rays and the occasional scuba diver.

Chef Keith Schockling recently added new dishes to the menu, both savory and sweet, and they all look delicious!

For starters, there’s a charbroiled octopus with nori sushi rice, sesame slaw and a soy reduction; a lump crab cake with watercress-citrus salad and a classic remoulade; seafood salad with Gulf Shrimp and mahi mahi in a citrus marinade with a little kick from serrano peppers, a little sweetness from mango sorbet and crisp plantain chip, and a seasonal house salad – for summer it’s mixed greens, raspberry vinaigrette, fresh berries, feta cheese and sunflower brittle.

New entrées include one from land and one from sea: the tuna bowl with spice-crusted tuna, rice noodles, charred bok choy, crisp shiitakes, pickled vegetables and broth (substitute tofu for tuna if you prefer); and a bone-in roasted pork chop with potatoes, creamy pimento cheese, braised greens and a honey-barbecue vinaigrette.

And if you saved room for dessert, there’s a rich citrus bread pudding with whiskey sauce, candied pecans and salted caramel gelato. Yum!
