Pirates of the Caribbean at Disneyland park at the Disneyland Resort is scheduled to close for refurbishment in April 2018 for a makeover of the auction scene.
Previously announced over the summer, Disney is changing the attraction to be more politically correct. According to Disney, you’ll discover that a familiar character is playing a new role joining the pirates ranks and helping the local townspeople “unload” their valuables at the Mercado auction. In the U.S., this famous redhead will appear in a similar scene at the Magic Kingdom Park and Disneyland park in 2018 following a previously scheduled refurbishment.
Pirates of the Caribbean is scheduled to be closed April 23 – June 7; reopening to guests on June 8, 2018. Magic Kingdom at Walt Disney World Resort is currently closed to remove the auction scene while Disneyland Paris completed their refurbishment last year.
